Baby's First Christmas!

Christmas with the Thompsons!!!

We had Christmas with Jolee's mom, dad, sister and her family Saturday night! We had a great time! They got Ford a lifesize dinosaur that he can control. He ran out of the room screaming with excitement. We have seen it a couple of times at Target and he loved it! He was so excited! This Christmas is so special because it is Finlee and Willa's first Christmas. They love eachother and are going to be the best of friends!!!!!WE are looking forward to many Christmas times with lots of fun to be had!

Finlee's first sickness!

WOW! What a couple of days we have had. It seemed to have started during our trip. She started to wake up about every two hours, just babbling, but eventually would cry and not able to soothe herself back to sleep. We just thought she was out of sorts from the drive and not being home. When we got back home, she became stuffy and congested. Well after two nights of no sleep we finally called the doctor. She was grunting really bad and we thought she had bad gas. She was crying uncontollably. She was able to be soothed for a bit but then cry hard again. She slept in her swing for about two hours at a time before waking up. Turns out that our sweet baby has her first ear infection! We hope that his does not turn into the run ins we had with Ford and ear infections. He got them constantly. Getting her to take the medicing is quite fun. She spits everything back out. We thought she was ready to start solids and were so excited, but turns out she is not. She just turns her little head and spits it out. The doctor said to quit for a couple weeks and try again then. She will probably be well into her sixth month before she is ready. She just loves to nurse!! That is how Ford was with the bottle and he came right off of it at one, so hopefully she will transtion nicely. I am not complaining. I love the cuddle time!!! She is down for a nap and Ford is off at school for some much needed play time and interaction with the older boys that he adores!! I am off to organize all the toys they recieved from Christmas. Will post more later!!!

What a great Christmas!

We had a fantastic Christmas! We went to North Carolina, just above the Outer Banks to visit my family. We haven't seen them in so long. My parents and brother and his wife flew in also. My uncle and his wife own a Marina there so we were right on the water! Ford loved that. He was all excited about the water and walking on the dock! We spent lots of time with family!!! Ford especially enjoyed playing with my little cousing. She is 5 and he just adored her. Finlee also had a playmate, my other little cousing, Canyon. He is 7 months! My mom has a brother that is only about ten years older than me. Our kids are very close in age! Ford was so excited for Santa to come!! Seeing his face when he saw his presents was the best present Jolee and I could have ever asked for! It was a great moment! We will never forget his excitement!!! IT was a great Christmas. The drive was a little rough, but worth it!

Guess who started solids...

I think Christmas is his favorite holiday...

Ford loves everything about Christmas. He especially loves the tree and all the lights on the houses. The one thing he does not like is sitting on Santa's lap. I have no doubt that he will love getting presents from him though! He has a Buzz Lightyear ornament and a Lightning McQueen one and just loves to hang them in new places on the tree oh about every five minutes! He is obsessed! It is pretty darn cute!

Getting ready for Santa...

This year for Christmas we will travel to Virginia!! That is where I grew up. I cannot wait to see my grandparents, more family, and my very bestest friends that I hav known my whole life!!! We are so excited. We are a little apprehensive about the drive, but we will make it! We have finally finished Santa shopping! Ford is going to love it! We got Finlee a few things but shedoes not really know any better yet. We have been busy busy! We went to see Santa this weekend. Ford said he would not cry this time, but he did! As sad as he was, he was so cute about it! We had two birthday parties today. So needless to say we are tuckered out!! This is my last week of work and then Jolee and I are both off for two weeks. He took his vacation then because he had a lot left for this year and had to use it before the year ended. We are going to have such a good vacation!!!

A little update...

Jolee's granddad passed away Sunday morning. It was sort of expected but still a shock. We received the call Sunday morning right before we left for church. The sermon could not have been more perfect that day. He was such a great person. He was in a nursing home for the latter part of his life for Alzheimer's. But he seemed to always ask about that little blond boy "Ford" everytime Jolee's mom went to see him. We are sad that he never got the opportunity to meet Finlee or our niece Willa, but we know that he is seeing them now as he watches down. He will be missed dearly! Ford will always have a little part of him as they have the same middle name.
On another note, Jolee and I went Santa shopping for the kids Saturday night. My Aunt came and watched the kids. We had a blast. There are so many things that we want to get for the kids, especially Ford. We had so much fun buying him the things he points out daily that he wants. We cannot wait till Christmas morning. We got Finlee a cabbage patch doll and ofcourse some little girl toys since all she has is Ford's baby toys. We wanted to girly it up. We decide to start a tradition for her and get her a cabbage patch doll each Christmas and then take her to the cabbage patch dollland in Cleveland when she is a little older. We are so enjoying watching the relationship between Ford and Finlee grow. He adores her! He will randomly go and talk to her, kiss her, tell her he loves her. It just makes my heart melt. That is the best Christmas present that I could get, knowing he is well adjusted to our precious addition! As for visiting Santa, we went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch the other day and Santa happened to be there. We decided to try and get their pictures done since it was free and see how it went. Finlee did great however Ford cried and cried!!!! We will not be paying to get his pictures done. I have the one from there. I think we may take Finlee and get her "First Christmas picture" with him but Ford said he was done!! HAHA! Such a rough and tumble boy does not like to be with anyone he does not know. He is going through a big mommy phase! I love it! Because Finlee is obsessed with Daddy!!! Anyways, I will post some pictures soon. My sweet husband got me a new camera for Christmas, the professional kind and Iam loving it! I am definitly annoying Ford. He says "Mommy, no more say cheese". But I kep making him smile! He is such a perfect subject!!!

I love taking pictures! I cannot take enough!

I love taking pictures! It is a huge hobby of mine! And ofcourse my family is my main interest to shoot! Here are some recent pictures of what we have been up to. We put our tree up! Ford stops in the middle of hanging decorations and says, Mommy, I so excited!" We are beyond excited to share this with him. He is so innocent and precious. He is just tickled pink about everything. He cannot wait for Santa. We are also going to try and tell him that Santa is going to take his pacis to other babies. We are going to put them in his stocking and in turn Santa will take them and leave lots of goodies in his stocking. Wish us luck. It is such a comfort thing for him!!
